Robb Southerland Broker Associate Robb Southerland, a native Austinite, brings to Commercial Real Estate Solutions (CRES) a wealth of experience in real estate and business as well as an extensive network of colleagues and business associates. In his 32 years in commercial real estate brokerage, he has handled transactions amounting to over $60 million dollars, including the acquisition, development, and brokerage of the Lakeline Mall site and surrounding properties.
In addition to his real estate practice, Robb served as president and chairman of the board of J R Reed Music Company, founded in Austin by his grandfather in 1901. Serving in that capacity for his family he expanded the business from one location to three, and in 1983 successfully completed its sale to Dallas investors.
In addition to his professional work, Robb has been deeply involved in civic and community endeavors. In 1985 he was appointed by former Governor Mark White as Chairperson of the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (TCADA). In 1992 he founded the Crime Prevention Institute (CPI), an Austin-based not-for-profit organization advocating the development of creative and successful programs to deal with the issue of crime in Texas with a focus on reducing recidivism of ex-offenders.
Robb graduated with a BA from Texas Christian University in 1968. He and his wife Betty have four children. |
